I love what I do! My brother-in-law and my husband's best friend(both professional photographers) encouraged me to get into photography and now that I've started, I can't imagine doing anything else. I have always loved taking pictures of family and friends and the stories that those pictures tell of our lives.
I am originally from Marshall, Minnesota, but have lived in Sioux Falls for the last ten years and love it here. Prior to being a photographer, I was a second grade teacher. I left teaching a few years ago to stay at home with my three beautiful kids. When I'm not taking pictures or chasing my kids around, I try to find time to read, bake chocolate chip cookies, and lay in the sun and get a nice tan!
I love to do outdoor photography whenever possible, but do have an indoor studio. I am extremely excited with my new business and look forward to continuing Kristi Shanks Photography for years to come!
