I had a wonderful time with Diane and Travis for their engagement session. We decided to head downtown first to get some old/rustic backgrounds. They are avid kick boxers, so we pulled out the gloves for some fun shots. Travis actually proposed to Diane by putting the ring inside her glove! Afterward conquering downtown we headed over to Riverdale Park in Sioux Falls and took in the beautiful old bridges and green grasses. My summer assistant, Stephen, came along to help me with this engagement session. He did an amazing job getting some fun side angles of Travis & Diane! I just love taking pictures of energetic kids, it keeps my one my toes! We took these pictures on May 5 down at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, what we didn’t plan on or remember was that it was Cinco De Mayo Day at the Falls, so there were LOTS of people there! We had to be very inventive on our choice of backgrounds so I wouldn’t be spending hours photoshopping people out of the background! The kids did an amazing job and we got some great pictures of them being themselves. I have had the privilege of photographing Kade and Klaire for over 2.5 years, and it has been really fun capturing them at the different stages in life. Hope to do their next 2.5 years! What a precious little girl! Little Blakeley did an amazing job for her 3 month pictures. She did love to suck on her hands and we tired and tried to get her to stop, but in the end we gave up and let her be happy and content doing it. Sioux Falls Newborn Photographer- Little Jameson04.27.12
Jameson’s parents has the great idea to take some newborn pictures of little Jameson with a golf and baseball theme, so I turned on my creativeness and the results were amazing! Child Photographer- 3yr. Old Ben04.19.12
Ok, so we thought picking April 1st for Ben’s 3yr. old pictures sounds wonderful with all the spring colors and temps, but who knew that we were in store for a record breaking day. The temps reached 91 degrees here on April 1st. I can’t ever remember that happening in all my life. Little Ben was a trooper and the just kept going, pink cheeks and everything. We decided to meet at the park in Dell Rapids because it has a caboose stationed there and Ben loves trains. There he got to climb all over the train and we got some great candid pictures. Afterwards, we walked down to the river for some pictures of him which made for a nice contrast to the orange train. Children are so much fun to photograph, there expressions are priceless! Newborn Pictures, Sioux Falls- Little Adalynn04.17.12
Little Adalynn was 16 days old for these newborn pictures, a little older that I usually photograph newborns, but she was still very little and fit into all my props. Little Adalynn looked so cute in my new ladybug outfit and pink puff hat (a friend of mine made). I encourage all expecting or new parents to have newborn pictures taken of their little bundle of joy. They grow incredibly fast and what better way to remember how small they started out than to have their pictures taken soon after they are born.
