When I got a call asking if I photographed puppies I said of course 1-2 little puppies would be fun, but when the mom informed me they had a litter of 8 little German Wirehair puppies they wanted to photograph with their kids before the breeder came for the puppies, I laughed at myself as said, “Why not!” I began to envision little puddles all over my studio, thinking “what did I just get myself into?” I got lots of towels ready and some buckets and baskets to corral the little guys in. When the moment finally came the parents and grandparents brought the little kids in along with all 8 puppies in a laundry basket. We put yellow and turquoise handkerchiefs around the puppies to add a little color, then the time came to transfer them into my props in my studio and begin! We had a blast! Puppies were crawling all over the place, a few were whining, a couple fell asleep, and the kids were great holding them and loving them, and best of all we got through the entire session with no puddles!! After we tired all the puppies out we photographed Brooklyn and Beau for their (4yr & 2yr) pictures. Smiles all around here! These three are cousins, aren’t they adorable! I have to give credit to their mom’s who brought all the props (balloons, suckers, letters) to keep their little hand busy so I could take these wonderful pictures. Daniel & Kim | Ellsworth, MN | Wedding Photographer09.19.11
Kim and Daniel got married in the little town of Ellsworth, Mn on Aug. 27th, 2011. It was one of those “perfect” days to photograph outside with cloud cover so we didn’t have any squinting issues here. Kim got ready with all her bridesmaidd at her mom’s home right next door to the church. They are a dog loving family so I think there were a many dogs around a people! (just kidding) only like 5 maybe. The little flower girl kept sneaking food to the dogs, so cute! Everything went so perfect the whole day, not many weddings can say that. From the first moment, to outdoor pictures, then indoor pictures, the ceremony, a few bars on the way to Luverne for the reception, then the dance everything just clicked. Good job in all your planning. I hope you love your pictures! Thank you for letting me be apart of documenting the story of your wedding day, it was truly a pleasure. My Kiddo’s08.11.11
One of the privileges of being a photographer is that you get to take your kids photo’s anytime you want for free! But there are total downsides too, those being:
1. You don’t have time to take your own kids pictures because you are busy taking pictures of everyone else.
2. You never edit your kids pictures because you don’t have time.
3. You never print out any of your kids pictures you take.
Well, today I tackled a few of these. I took these pictures well over 6 weeks ago and finally got them edited today! OK, they are not printed yet, but will be soon. Oh- And I’m trying out a new format to display my pictures today, this way they are already laid out and I can just order the album. Hope you enjoy! I was blessed last week to take these pictures of little Aubrey and her friend Iris. Aubrey is almost 6 months in these pictures, but was born at 28 1/2 weeks so she is a bit smaller than the average 6 month old. I think she is the only 6 month old that fell asleep not once but twice during our session! Her dad is an avid hunter so he got this cute little hunting outfit that had pink lace on it, perfect for little girls.
