I had a wonderful time with Diane and Travis for their engagement session.  We decided to head downtown first to get some old/rustic backgrounds.  They are avid kick boxers, so we pulled out the gloves for some fun shots.  Travis actually proposed to Diane by putting the ring inside her glove!  Afterward conquering downtown we headed over to Riverdale Park in Sioux Falls and took in the beautiful old bridges and green grasses.  My summer assistant, Stephen, came along to help me with this engagement session.  He did an amazing job getting some fun side angles of Travis & Diane!  We wait to photograph your wedding in September 2012!  Blessings- Kristi Shanks  Sioux Falls Photographer

I just love taking pictures of energetic kids, it keeps my one my toes!  We took these pictures on May 5 down at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, what we didn’t plan on or remember was that it was Cinco De Mayo Day at the Falls, so there were LOTS of people there!  We had to be very inventive on our choice of backgrounds so I wouldn’t be spending hours photoshopping people out of the background!  The kids did an amazing job and we got some great pictures of them being themselves.  I have had the privilege of photographing Kade and Klaire for over 2.5 years, and it has been really fun capturing them at the different stages in life. What a precious little girl!  Little Blakeley did an amazing job for her 3 month pictures.  She did love to suck on her hands and we tired and tried to get her to stop, but in the end we gave up and let her be happy and content doing it.  We figured it’s a memory of this stage of her life for them to keep.  Baby Photography is so much fun, never a dull moment.  I do offer a baby cakes plan which includes:  Pay for the first 4 session packages and  get the 5th session package free!  That over $200 for FREE!  You can pick from (maternity, newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, or 1yr pictures), all you need to do is get 5 in with in the baby’s first year.  If you have more question about this please contact my via email or calling 605-941-2554.  Blessings- Kristi Shanks  Sioux Falls Baby Photographer

Jameson’s parents has the great idea to take some newborn pictures of little Jameson with a golf and baseball theme, so I turned on my creativeness and the results were amazing!  Little Jameson is just 3 days old here for his newborn pictures, and he slept like a rock star!  We got so many great pictures that I had a hard time narrowing them down to edit them.  I hope you enjoy these!  Kristi Shanks  Newborn Photographer Sioux Falls

Ok, so we thought picking April 1st for Ben’s 3yr. old pictures sounds wonderful with all the spring colors and temps, but who knew that we were in store for a record breaking day. The temps reached 91 degrees here on April 1st. I can’t ever remember that happening in all my life. Little Ben was a trooper and the just kept going, pink cheeks and everything. We decided to meet at the park in Dell Rapids because it has a caboose stationed there and Ben loves trains. There he got to climb all over the train and we got some great candid pictures.  Afterwards, we walked down to the river for some pictures of him which made for a nice contrast to the orange train.  Children are so much fun to photograph, there expressions are priceless!  Blessings- Kristi Shanks  Sioux Falls Child Photographer

Little Adalynn was 16 days old for these newborn pictures,  a little older that I usually photograph newborns, but she was still very little and fit into all my props.  Little Adalynn looked so cute in my new ladybug outfit and pink puff hat (a friend of mine made).   I encourage all expecting or new parents to have newborn pictures taken of their little bundle of joy.  They grow incredibly fast and what better way to remember how small they started out than to have their pictures taken soon after they are born.  I look forward to each newborn session and love to try new ideas and props.  Hope you enjoy!  Blessings- Kristi Shanks  Sioux Falls Newborn Photographer 

Little Layla was just 6 days old for her newborn pictures, just adorable!  I was so happy that she let me try out some of my new props.  I love buying newborn props and came across the bumble bee tutu last week and saw some inspiration.  I love the pictures of her smiling while laying on her hands in the tin bucket, sometimes I can catch these moments and when I do I’m truly ecstatic as are the parents.  If you know if anyone expecting, please give them my name.  I do have tons of props here (and buying more all the time) so parents don’t need to bring anything, unless they want to.  Blessings- Kristi Shanks  Sioux Falls Newborn Photographer

Little Charlie had quite the first birthday party and we got it all documented with over 300 pictures that they got to keep.  My assistant, Stephen, helped me photograph Charlie’s first birthday party which was held at Cherry Creek Restaurant in the banquet hall.  Elmo was the inspired theme and everywhere you looked there were Elmo colors (Red & Blue).  Jessica (Mom) did a fantastic job in decorating and planning for this special day.  The kids got to enjoy a jumping pit with slide, a piggy race, a candy bar, a slideshow, and lots of other games, there wasn’t a dull moment.  We had a wonderful time documenting all the special moments of the afternoon, and Jessica & Travis (mom & dad) got to relax and enjoy the party and company, not having to worry about taking pictures to capture it all.  If you have a upcoming birthday party, reunion, and special event that you would like photographed please give me a call.  Happy 1st Birthday Charlie!  Kristi Shanks   Sioux Falls Children’s Photographer
